The State Journal story, dated Oct. 16, 1945, noted that more than a dozen individuals who either taught or studied at the University of Wisconsin–Madison spent time at Los Alamos. Three of them — Joseph McKibben, Joan Hinton and Hugh Richards — I found particularly compelling.
