Hutchins named Big Ten Swimmer of the Year

Following a standout season that culminated in a pair of top-10 finishes at the NCAA championships, Wisconsin junior Matt Hutchins was selected as 2016 Big Ten Men’s Swimmer of the Year, as announced by the conference on Tuesday.

Hutchins is the first male Big Ten Swimmer of the Year in Wisconsin program history. He is the first Badger to win the award on either the men’s or women’s side since Maggie Meyer in 2011.
